About Me

Sara: I am an artist based in London, predominantly working figuratively in oils. Having studied in the main as a printmaker, initially focusing on etching and then monotypes, I felt the need to change medium. What I wanted to express and the means of expression seemed to be more achievable through paint. I embarked on painting and have basically been self taught. For me, using paint, exploring the medium, the use of paint and the mark making, allows me to have direct contact with what I am doing, an immediacy that was lacking through the necessity of following technical procedures in other mediums. It is an ongoing process for me, a journey of discovery.
